CDL Trucking School: So Much Catching Up!

Wow! It’s been awhile since I last typed a post on Foxzell! First day of school was on May 29th. It was about the rules of the road, introduction to fellow classmates, and our instructor’s experience on the road and what to expect.

In June, we practice drop and hook, backing conventional-side and driver-side parallel parking, offset backing, straight backing, and 90-degree alley docking.

The shifting part was a little more in-depth. Upshifting and downshifting took some time to learn, but I was the best of the group my instructors said. I had it down within 3 days, I would say. Double-clutching is required for the driving exam, in case you was wondering.

We drove out to Garden City and Brunswick a few times in June. We was getting some required and much needed city driving experience, and it helped put a perspective on how real truckers get by. It was challenge for sure, but we did it!
